College Planning Info Don't miss the College Planning information presented September 13 at 6:00-7:00 PM in the Media Center. This presentation is primarily for parents of Seniors, but parents of Juniors who want a head start should consider attending also. Presented by Ms. Denise Noffze.
Financial Planning for College FREE Workshop offered in September 20 at 7:00 PM in the Flex Room. How to plan for college WITH or WITHOUT financial aid… Those attending will receive one free private advisement session from the presenter, George Learned, to specifically deal with your financial situation. Career Assessment available
Find out more about The Call, a career assessment that combines: Spiritual Gifts, Cognitive Skills (reasoning abilities), Personal Interests, and Innate Skills/Abilities. October 25, 2010 at 7:00-8:00 PM. Taking this career assessment could save you the cost of a year or two of college tuition. Especially for grades 10-12, but all grade levels are invited to attend.

Juniors... Juniors and their parents should plan to attend the College Fairs in the fall as well as visit colleges in the spring and summer. Look at college websites to find out when they are hosting "Junior Days" so you can visit on that day. College Fairs in August, September & October Big Benefits of Colorado's Small Colleges Each Junior will meet with Miss Noffze during second semester to start the college decision and application process. During Junior year, it is important that you perform to your highest ability in your classes. Begin studying or looking at ACT and SAT test examples so you will do well on one of those tests. If you and your parents would like to begin your college search early, please make an appointment after October 20.
Seniors... College Fairs for Fall 2010 Colorado's Small College Night All College Fairs in Metro Denver
Each Senior will meet with Miss Noffze 3-4 times during first semester. Come ready to talk about college acceptance letters, financial aid packages offered to you, transcript needs, and any additional questions.
Recommendation letters: Please have your Biographical Information page completed and a copy printed to give to the teachers or coaches whom you've asked to write letters for you. The Biographical Info helps them to write a well presented letter about you.
Transcript Requests: Please allow 7 work days to fill your request.. If it is an emergency, remember that $5 must accompany each request. Requests must be made by December 3. Requests made after that date will not be filled out until January 15. Download the FAFSA draft form from the right side of this page to begin working on the information needed January 1, 2011. See the December newsletter for more specific information.
Future College Visits Seniors are invited to accompany the counselor, Miss Noffze, on these visits to college Preview Days. Parents are welcome to attend with us. Friday, November 4, 5, 6: Concordia University, Seward, NE for SENIORS only Spring Break : Visit 4 colleges on this trip to see what size college might fit you the best. We will preview: Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Hastings College, Creighton Univ and Concordia Univ.
